A State of Jane by Meredith Schorr

Jane Frank is a twenty-something paralegal. She has dreams of going to law school, becoming a lawyer, finding a husband, marrying and having a family. Typical things a female wants, right?

Well, Jane used to have a good life. She had the same boyfriend for nine years. And then she broke up with him. While they still loved each other, they weren’t IN love with each other anymore. They went their separate ways. Bob, her ex, quickly moved on and found someone new who he moved in with and eventually became engaged too.

Jane went on some really horrible dates and then changed her mind on how she was going about things after talking to one of her co-workers. It takes a couple acts of “God” to get her to straighten her act up.

What all does Jane go through during the book? What happens with Bob? Does Jane find love? What about any of her friends and family?

This is the second book I’ve read by Meredith Schorr. I must say, I really like her books. They are light and fun to read. They make you want to sit down and read them all in one go and not want to do anything else while reading them.

The ONLY gripe I have about this book is the ending!! Why do authors leave books in cliffhangers?! This book ending could leave it open for a second book in the series. I SERIOUSLY hope that there is going to be another book in the series to continue the story of Jane and all of her friends. 🙂
