Review: Where I Belong (Alabama Summer #1) by J. Daniels

Where I Belong (Alabama Summer Book 1) by [Daniels, J.]

Amazon Description: When Mia Corelli returns to Alabama for a summer of fun with her childhood best friend, Tessa, there’s only one thing keeping her on edge. One person that she’d do anything to avoid.

Benjamin Kelly. World’s biggest dickhead.

Mia hates him with a fury and has no desire to ever see him again. When she decides to start her summer off with a bang and finally give away her v-card, she unknowingly hands it over to the one guy that excelled at making her life miserable, learning a valuable lesson in the process.

Always get the name of the guy you’re going home with.

Ben can’t get the girl he spent one night with out of his head. When she leaves him the next morning, he thinks he’ll never see her again. Until he sees her lounging by the pool with his sister.

Mia is determined to hate Ben, even though she can’t forget him.

Ben is determined to prove he’s not the same guy he used to be.

What happens when the one person you wish never existed becomes the one person you can’t imagine being without?

Where I Belong is the first book in the Alabama Summer series by author J. Daniels.

I picked this book up while it was free. I’ve heard good things about it and I can see why. I absolutely loved reading this book. I read it in the course of a few hours.

Mia is so adorable. I loved all the shit she gave Ben and her freak out that she had. I could totally see something like this happening to someone in real life, and I’m sure it has somewhere. This is one of those books that plays out like a movie in your head while you’re reading it.

This story is roughly 225+ pages. I love long books, because let’s face it, some book require more pages than others to get the story just right. I think this book is perfect where it is, which I don’t normally think that! I almost ALWAYS think books need another chapter or two but not this one!

Product Review: Hottips Mini Portable Battery Chargers (set of 2)

This two pack of portable battery chargers comes in blue and purple. They are mini: 3.5 inches long by less than an inch wide. They work really well though for being so small.

I’m a Pokemon Go player (que the haters). The game does drain my battery even with the battery saver option turned on. So i started searching for something cheap that would work. I came across these and said why the heck not. They are cheap enough.

When the battery charger is being charged, it hasa red light that is on. When it is charging a device, the light is an blue. The initial time ebb to fully charge the pack is 8 hours.

I did have issues with the purple charger. There was no red light indicating it was charging. I’d had it on the required time and it wouldn’t charge anything. So I messaged the seller. He was very helpful. He suggested letting it charge overnight and try it in the morning. I did so and it worked fine. He stated that some of the chargers didnt have the red light. He also said that if it breaks in the future to contact him.

Other than that light, I’ve had no problems with these battery packs. I take them with me everywhere I go. There is one port labeled in to charge the pack itself. There is another port labeled out to charge devices. They both come with a charging cord. If you have an Apple product, you will need a different cord to charge your device. The included cables work with my LG phone, Samsung tablet and Kindle.

It charges quickly. And almost fully for my tablet and Kindle. My phone is another story but I’m usually using it while it’s charging.

These power banks canbe wen purchased for  $6.49 from Amazon. I purchased my twin set for full price. I would definitely recommend these.

Product Review: Madbite 13 in 1 Multi-tool

Pliers, wire cutter, saw-tooth blade, phillips screwdriver head, flat screwdriver head, knife, file, 2nd flat screwdriver head, can opener, bottle opener and a piece that I have no idea what it is is what accompanies this 13 in 1 multi-tool. (Apparently, I’m missing a couple functions but I have no idea what they are.)

I love the bright blue metallic color. As long as it’s not in the accompanying black case, you won’t loose it easily. The black case isn’t very sturdy but it does hold the multi-tool nicely. The ONLY thing I don’t like about it is the back. You have to slide it onto a belt. I honestly think it would be better if it had a type of clip to slip onto the belt or onto jeans/pants/pockets and such.

The multi-tool itself is all made of metal with a few hard plastic pieces. It has a nice bit of weight behind it with it being as small as it is. When I got it, I thought it was going to be bigger but I am happy with the size. It is definitely not bulky like what I was imagining when I ordered it. The Madbite name is on both sides of the tool. It folds up into an almost perfect triangle. It fits nicely in the hand and will work for many sizes of hands whether they be small or large. (That being said, I wouldn’t recommend children using/playing with this for obvious reasons!)

This can be used for many recreational reasons including hiking, camping and fishing being the most useful. It’s a great small tool to have on hand.

This Madbite multi-tool sells for $12.98 on Amazon which is a decent price in my opinion.

***I received my Madbite multi-tool at a deep discount in exchange for my honest opinion. I trust you to make your own opinions should you purchase this Madbite multi-tool.***

Product Review: Kuuqa Lanyards with Heavy Duty Badge Holder

When I saw that these were heavy duty, I thought that they were going to be a flimsy plastic at best. That is not the case with these. The plastic badge holder really is a heavy duty plastic. It doesn’t have a lot of give to it so whatever you put in there will be safe. Another great feature is that it features a ziplock to close the two sides together. This will keep moisture and everything else out of there.

They are the perfect size for a normal badge that most companies use. The pocket itself will hold something that is almost 4 inches tall by 3 inches wide. The lanyard itself measures about sixteen inches plus the clip at the end to hold the badge part. It’s a silky nylon type material.

There are many other uses to these other than badge holders. I am going to use them to put different Pokemon pictures in and some princess pictures as well. My daughter will love opening them when it’s her birthday. I can already see her wanting to wear them all at the same time and wanting to wear them to school as well.

(I printed the picture a little big. It’s Eevee with Pikachu on her back.)

Each package comes with five of the plastic sleeves as well as five of the lanyards, so five complete sets of lanyards and sleeves. They sell for $7.09 on Amazon from seller KuuqaDirect. This is a GREAT price for five sets. I have seen other sets that are more than DOUBLE that amount!

***I received a set of these lanyards and sleeves in exchange for my review. All statements are my own. I trust you to make your own decisions should you purchase these. If you make a purchase, please comment and tell me what you like or didn’t like about them.***

Product Review: Kuuqa Stainless Steel Multifunction Clips (20 pack)

As stated in the title, these multi-functional clips are made of stainless steel. So they will go with any idea you have. I could even see them spray painted if you don’t like the regular stainless steel color. Each individual clip consists of an “s” hook, an odd shaped hook and a clip. The clip is held to the “s” hook by the odd shaped hook in the middle. All three pieces are stainless steel and not just the hook or clip.

There are twenty that come in a pack so more than plenty for any light job you need done. The suggested uses for these clips are for hanging lights and for home uses and party uses. These would make great clips to hang party supplies from. In face, in September when it’s my daughter’s birthday, I’m going to use these clips to hang some decorations from the ceiling and I’m also going to use them to hold up a photo prop background instead of taping/stapling/nailing it to the wall.

These clips will save lots of damage to walls. If you have a spot where the S hook can attach, then there is no need for additional holes in your walls or ceilings. These can and will hold just about anything. We’ve used a few of these to hold my daughter’s art work while it dries. (I didn’t get any pictures of her painted pictures that she did. Darn it!) We’ve been using these for craft assistance when we have stuff that needs dried or we have papers that we just don’t want to use.

If one clip isn’t long enough, you can definitely hook a few together to create a longer chain. Each clip is around two and a half inches in length.

While I like the clips, I didn’t like the small plastic bag they came in. A regular little bag that closes like a Ziploc bag. The clips got tangled together and it took me a while to untangle all of them. Maybe using some kind of cardboard packaging that keeps them separated in it’s own individual slot or something to keep them separated and from getting tangled. (Doesn’t necessarily have to be cardboard.)

These clips are sold in a 20 pack by KuuqaDirect on Amazon for $8.99 a pack. That makes each hook less than 50 cents each which I think is a decent price. While I received my pack free to try, I think $8.99 is a decent price and wouldn’t mind paying that price in the future should the need arise and I need more of these clips. Overall a great product minus the packaging.

Product Review: Songmics Acrylic Makeup Organizer, 3 pieces

The top picture is the bottom two pieces. (I didn’t separate them for the picture. But it is two pieces.) The bottom picture is the top piece that holds lipsticks, brushes and more.

As you can tell, I don’t use this makeup organizer for a lot of makeup. It works for so many uses. I use mine on my desk and use it for pens, pencils, ink injectors, thermometer, some lipsticks and a few Shopkins. I wanted to use this for nail polish but the holes on top aren’t big enough for most standard bottles of nail polish.

The drawers, even though they look small, aren’t. The two bottom drawers are full drawers that go all the way across. The next three rows are actually 6 drawers. Each drawer is half the size of the large drawers.

I really like that this is made of acrylic. It cleans up easily and it doesn’t break/crack. I’ve had a couple other makeup organizers that definitely aren’t this sturdy and reliable. I would highly recommend this for those that want a reliable makeup organizer or office supply organizer. Lol.

This particular makeup organizer sells for $29.99 on Amazon. I would say that it’s worth it because of the size and because of the sturdiness of it. I have seen smaller makeup organizers sell for more money and they had horrible reviews.

The Essential Gluten-Free Grocery Guide by Triumph Dining

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. It came in the actual paperback edition instead of Kindle.

I’m glad I came across this book. We’ve been trying to go gluten-free for a while now because we think gluten is what is causing some of my daughter’s health issues. Gluten is becoming one of the most common things to cause illness. I have a few friends who have Celiac disease and I know it is hard on them when something is marked gluten-free and it actually isn’t.

I was kinda skeptical when I signed up to review this book thinking it was going to be cheesy and it really wasn’t going to help at all. I figured, yeah the cover says 52,000 products but were there really going to be that many listed and is it going have the stores that I shop at in there? The answer to both of these questions was yes. I loved this book from the moment I started looking at it, realizing it was better than I thought it was going to be and a lot more helpful than I realized.

I love the way this book is set up. It is broken down into eleven different sections. Each section then is broken down further and each store lists the brand (whether it be store brand or name brand) and specific product that is gluten free. There are 52 THOUSAND products listed in this book. I couldn’t imagine going to the store and looking at multiple packages of items that are labeled as gluten-free when they really aren’t.

This book will DEFINITELY be staying around and will be making each shopping trip to the store with us. I would HIGHLY recommend getting this book. It might be an expensive book at $6 for Kindle or $24/$25 for paperback but I assure you, this book IS WORTH every penny.
