Forbidden (The Other Brother #1) by Lauren Hawkeye and Tawny Stokes

This is the first book in the “The Other Brother” series by New York Times bestselling authors Lauren Hawkeye and Tawny Stokes.

Amazon Description: Simple. The  consummate good girl, this is the word I used to describe my life… until my stepbrother Seth came to live with us. Until that point, I’d been a very good girl… but my older, emotionally blocked stepbrother made me want to do very bad things. With him.  In the course of one night everything changed, and my simple world was torn to shreds. I wanted to hate him. I did hate him. Mostly. But now he’s back. And nothing will ever be simple again.

I’ve read some other works by Lauren Hawkeye so I wasn’t new to her works. I liked them and hoped that I would like this one as well. And I did.

This book is about Allegra and Seth. Seth’s mother marries Allegra’s father. Seth was living with his father who happened to remarry and he was kicked out that house. He has anger issues and they didn’t want him around the three girls that were being moved in. So he’s shipped off to live with Sam (Allegra’s father, Allegra, Theo (Allegra’s brother) and his mom. Allegra answers the door and he figures her for a babysitter thinking the sister is little. But he quickly realizes that the one who answered the door is Allegra, his new sister.

And he instantly knows he needs to stay away from her. Because he has thoughts about her that he shouldn’t be having. He was staying in the spare room which happened to also be Sam’s office. Sam quickly gets the space above the garage cleared out for Seth to move in there. Things get really heated between Seth and Theo and not for reasons one would think!

One thing leads to another. Seth ends up in jail and Theo ends up in the hospital. That’s the last Allegra sees of Seth until the fateful day when she unwillingly runs into him again.

I liked reading this book. The next part is on my wishlist and I hope to get it soon.
